2004 Sacramento Meet of Champions - Open Session Alternate Lists
Lists are for Open Session Only!
The list of “alternate athletes” designates those
individuals and relay teams that are currently “next in line” to compete in
their respective events, if there are sufficient withdrawls (scratches) from the
event the day of the meet. Each track and field event has limitations in the
number of athletes allowed due to the limitations of the facilities (eg, number
of lanes on the track) and the time
required to complete a field event for a certain number of athletes. Where
necessary, the alternate list specifies the size limitations developed by the
Meet Director for each event.
If you are on the list of “alternate athletes” and
you are a member of a school with other athletes competing in the meet, check in
with your school with the rest of your teammates. Because you are an
alternate athlete and there is no guarantee that you will compete in your
alternate events, your school will not be charged an entry fee for your
participation in the alternate events. If you are not a member of a
competing school, you must be accompanied by your coach or an adult designated
by your coach to take responsibility for you while you are at the meet. Please have written certification from your coach that you
may compete in the meet and that the adult accompanying you is responsible for
you during you time at the meet. Check in at the “athletes/coaches
entrance gate” at the southeast corner of the stadium to be allowed entrance
to the stadium. Because you are
an alternate athlete and there is no guarantee that you will compete, you and
your coach/designated adult will not be charged an entry fee for your alternate
events or for admission into the meet.
Alternate athletes and relay teams need to report to the "Alternate Area" thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of a running event and forty-five (45) minutes prior to the start of field event. The "Alternate Area" will be marked with a sign and located near the entrance to the “Clerk of the Course” check-in area on the southwest corner of the track. Make sure you follow these instructions and let the “Alternate Athletes Clerk” know that you are in attendance and ready to compete.
